Tomintoul – Peaty Tang (70cl, 40%)

Tomintoul Peaty Tang is a Speyside single malt made from peated malted barley, which gives it a deep smoky character. Most distilleries in Speyside do not use peat, so this is an unusual style for the region. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle and was matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks. The nose is balanced smoke with subtle floral tones. On the palate there is gentle peat smoke with malted nuts and fruity sweetness, and the finish is lingering smoke with a touch of sweetness.
