Tweeddale – Grain of Truth Peated Edition (50%)

Tweeddale Grain of Truth Peated Edition is a peated single grain Scotch whisky bottled at 50%. The mash bill is half peated malted barley and half wheat, and the whisky was matured in bourbon casks. It is natural in colour and not chill-filtered. The aim behind it is to show that a single grain can stand alongside a single malt. The nose brings apple and grassy notes with a little earthy smoke, then lemon and lime over sweet smoke. On the palate it is sweet and smoky with barbecue, chocolate and caramel, and berries arrive mid-palate. The finish is drying and lightly charred.
