Tweeddale The Evolution 28 Year Old Blended (52%)

This is a 28 year old blended whisky from Tweeddale, made from Speyside single malt and Lowland single grain, with the youngest whisky in the bottle at 28 years. It is the newest and oldest Tweeddale whisky to date, bottled at 52% with natural colour and without chill-filtering. Alasdair Day created it as the full-bodied, traditional blend he believes his great-grandfather Richard Day would have made, with the elegance and fruity sherry notes of classic Speyside malts. The nose is blackcurrant, cherry, plum and creamy wax, with lemon icing. On the palate come juicy Christmas cake, blackcurrant and pear, a mulled-wine fruitiness and orange peel. The finish has a hint of American oak and milk chocolate.
