This is a 5 year old single malt from Staoisha, the heavily peated make of Bunnahabhain on the north coast of Islay. It is bottled at 64.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in a first fill Garrison Brothers bourbon barrel, and 105 bottles were filled.
The nose has medicinal peat smoke and coastal brine, followed by vanilla cream, fresh sawdust and charred corn. On the palate, earthy peat smoke comes first, then caramel, toasted vanilla and citrus. The finish is long and warm, with campfire embers, vanilla oak and coastal salt.
