Uncle Nearest 1856 is a blend of premium aged whiskeys, and this bottle is signed by Victoria Eady Butler, the brand's master blender and the great-great-granddaughter of Nathan 'Nearest' Green.
It has a caramel colour with a deep golden hue. The nose brings baled hay and pumpkin seeds, with subtle ripe stone fruit and caramel corn.
The palate is bold and spicy at first, then softens into sweet caramel and maple, recalling an oatmeal raisin cookie. The finish is long and rich, staying pleasantly sweet with vanilla once the spice fades.
