Uncle Nearest Single Barrel is a cask strength Tennessee whiskey from Uncle Nearest Distillery in Middle Tennessee, bottled at 59.4% in a 75cl bottle. The exact proof varies from barrel to barrel, as each barrel is chosen individually.
The whiskey goes through the Lincoln County Process, charcoal mellowing, and then ages in new American oak. It is bottled without added water and is non-chill filtered.
The nose offers toasted oak, caramel, vanilla bean and marzipan, with baking spices and dark cherry. The palate is full-bodied, with brown sugar, roasted nuts, baking chocolate, orange zest and black pepper. The finish is long and warming, with charred oak, dark chocolate and honey.
