This is a peated Islay single malt, distilled in 2007 and bottled by Berry Bros & Rudd after 18 years in cask. It was finished in an Oloroso cask, and only 667 bottles were filled.
The nose brings ashy smoke around dried figs, raisins and spiced dates, followed by almonds, hazelnuts and nutmeg. The sherry influence adds depth, with its sweetness tempered by an earthy note of tobacco leaf.
On the palate a light dusting of icing sugar offers contrast before the smoke returns, leading into a long, smouldering finish.
