Type
Blended Whisky
Vat 69 is a blended Scotch whisky, and this bottling dates from the 1960s, when it was still sold in the port-style bottle. William Sanderson created the blend in 1882 and named it after the 69th vatting, chosen by expert tasters. It combines around 40 malt and grain whiskies. The nose is warm, with spice, caramel and barley malt, a touch of pear juice and soft wheat, and woody undertones. On the palate ground almonds and malt lead, with pepper, biscuit and a little peat smoke. The finish is woody and spiced, with lingering caramel and a soft, short-lived smoky warmth.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
