Vat 69 is a blended Scotch whisky from the 1980s, bottled at 40% ABV. It follows the blend created by William Sanderson in 1882, which was chosen from 100 vattings.
The whisky has an amber gold colour. On the nose there is honey and caramel with vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon, and toasted wood alongside candied citrus.
The palate is creamy, with malt and dried fruit, sweet spice, oak and toffee, and a little smoke. The finish is medium to long and warm, with oak, pepper and a faint echo of fruit and smoke.
