This is an 8 year old Canadian rye whiskey from the Very Olde St. Nick Ancient Cask range, bottled at 41.4% in a 750ml bottle and made for the Japanese market. It was matured in small, charred oak barrels and is golden straw in colour.
The Very Olde St. Nick label began in the early 2000s as a bottling by Julian Van Winkle and Kentucky Bourbon Distillers for export to Japan.
On the palate it is smooth, with real sweetness and weight alongside a strong rye spice.
