W.L. Weller 19 Year Old is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon, distilled in spring 1983 and bottled in autumn 2002 at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was the final release of the 19 year old, which held its place in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection before the barrel-proof William Larue Weller took over that slot.
Tasting notes describe a nose of deep caramel, vanilla, mature oak and brown sugar, with dried fruit, leather and baking spice. The palate moves from caramel and vanilla into dark fruit, toasted oak and tobacco. The finish is long, with vanilla, seasoned oak, leather and caramelised sugar.
