Waterloo 2019 The Brancardier Single Grain – Batch 3 (50cl, 43%)

The Brancardier is a Belgian single grain whisky from Waterloo Distillery at Mont-Saint-Jean. It is made and matured on the farm where Napoleon had his field hospital in 1815. This is batch 3, in a 50cl bottle at 43% ABV, with an outturn of 2,200 bottles. It was distilled in 2019 and bottled in January 2024 at 5 years old. Maturation took place in French oak casks of 30 and 228 litres, together with bourbon casks. The nose offers sweet grain, honey and light spices. On the palate come soft vanilla, young esters and French oak. The finish is medium, clean and slightly sweet.
