This is a Canadian whisky distilled at Wayne Gretzky Estates in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. It is the third release in the Craftsmanship Series and is bottled at 50% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
It is made from rye, wheat, barley and corn, and aged for 5 years in American virgin oak and once-used ex-bourbon barrels before a finish in maple casks.
The nose is gentle, with vanilla bean, butterscotch, caramel, toasted malt, citrus peel and soft maple. The palate is creamy and full-bodied, with sweet corn, buttered toast and honeyed cereal, then baking spices, black pepper and oak. The finish is medium to long, with maple syrup, toasted grain and gentle wood spice.
