Weller 12 is a Kentucky wheated bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery, aged for 12 years, which is far longer than most of its peers. It is bottled at 45% in a 75cl bottle and has a deep bronze colour.
The nose has sweet pipe tobacco, cedar cigar box and hot caramel sundae, with candied peanuts, toasted coconut and a trace of paraffin. The palate balances oak with juicy dark blackberry. The finish is long and leathery, with waxy fruit, spice, drying oak tannins and dark chocolate.
