Wemyss Malts Untold Riches 28 Year Old Bunnahabhain (70cl, 49.1%)

Untold Riches is a 28 year old Islay single malt distilled at Bunnahabhain and bottled by the independent bottler Wemyss Malts. It was released in 2020 at 49.1%, in a 70cl bottle, at natural colour and without chill-filtration. The whisky was drawn from a selected parcel of long-aged casks and is unpeated in style. The nose offers dark fruits, caramel and toffee, with cracked leather, old books, orange oil and gentle coastal notes. The palate is full and velvety, with demerara-coated nuts, banana bread, ripe plums and a touch of salinity. The finish is long and warming, with salted caramel, saffron, nutmeg and a little wood smoke.
