West Cork 5 Year Old Bourbon Cask (40%)

This is a five-year-old blended Irish whiskey from West Cork Distillers, made at the distillery in Skibbereen, County Cork. It combines malted barley whiskey with Irish grain whiskey. The whiskey is triple distilled and matured for five years in ex-Bourbon casks of American oak, which bring vanilla and caramel to its fruity, malty character. The nose opens with lively citrus and crisp apple over a light malt base, with a touch of nutmeg. On the palate it is soft, with sweet Bourbon vanilla and golden caramel alongside gentle malt. The finish is long and sweet, with the apple returning and a little nutmeg.
