West Cork Single Malt Port Cask Finish (43%)

This is an Irish single malt from West Cork Distillers, bottled at 43% ABV. It was first matured in first-fill bourbon casks, then finished in port casks from Quinta da Boeira. It is not chill-filtered, and its copper colour comes from the casks alone. The bourbon casks supply vanilla and caramel, while the port casks bring dark berries and grapes. The nose is creamy vanilla and warm caramel with nutmeg and black pepper. On the palate there are ripe blueberries, juicy grapes and soft vanilla, with a little ginger heat. The finish is long, with dark chocolate and plum.
