West Cork Single Malt Sherry Cask Finish (43%)

This is an Irish single malt from West Cork Distillers, made from malted barley at the distillery in Skibbereen, County Cork. It is bottled at 43% without chill-filtration or added colouring. The whiskey matures first in first-fill bourbon casks, then receives a finish in sherry casks from Bodegas Barón. The bourbon casks contribute vanilla, caramel and soft oak, while the sherry adds raisins, dark fruit and spice. On the nose there is creamy vanilla and warm caramel, with light sherry and oak. The palate is malty, with sweet dried raisins and darker fruit. The finish is long, with bittersweet chocolate and spicy oak.
