Westport (Glenmorangie) 2006/2022 15 Year Old Heroes & Heretics (70cl, 50%)

This is a 15 year old Westport, a teaspoon malt made from Glenmorangie whisky with a teaspoon of another distillery's malt added. It was matured in a single hogshead, distilled on 31 October 2006 and bottled on 24 October 2022 at 50%, with an outturn of 300 bottles. It is bottled by Heroes & Heretics for their range based on the novel John Macnab, in which three members of society try to take a stag, a salmon and a brace of grouse within 48 hours. This bottling honours Farlows. The nose is green apple, orange peel, golden barley and toasted oak. The palate is creamy vanilla, gingerbread and stone fruit with a little pepper, and the finish is lingering citrus with some honeyed sweetness.
