Westward – American Single Malt Cask Strength (62.5%)

Westward American Single Malt Cask Strength is an American single malt made entirely in Oregon and bottled at cask strength, 62.5%. It begins as an American pale ale, brewed with locally malted barley and ale yeast, with a slow, cool fermentation. After distillation it matures in American oak. Westward was founded in 2004 by Christian Krogstad, who wanted to make a distinctive American whiskey inspired by the Pacific Northwest. It is described as having flavours of sesame, tobacco and cocoa, with a deep malty finish.
