Westward – Single Malt (70cl, 45%)

Westward Single Malt is an American single malt from Portland, Oregon, made by a craft distillery founded in 2004 by master distiller Christian Krogstad. It is bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky begins as a pale ale, brewed in the distillery from regional malted barley and fermented with ale yeast. It matures in new, lightly charred American oak casks, through hot, dry summers and cold, wet winters in Oregon. The distillery is a founding member of the American Single Malt Whiskey Commission, set up in 2016 by 16 distilleries to establish a legal standard for the category.
