Westward American Single Malt Pinot Noir Cask is an American single malt made in Oregon. It starts as the standard Westward single malt, then spends a further two years in Pinot Noir casks. The grape was chosen because it is the most widely grown in the north-west of the United States.
Westward begins production by brewing an American ale from locally malted barley and beer yeast, fermented slowly at a low temperature, before ageing in American oak.
The whisky is described as fruity and robust, with plum, apricot and nutmeg, and a full, sweet malt finish.
