WhistlePig 21 Year Old The Béhôlden is a North American single malt made from 100% malted barley and aged for 21 years in American oak. It was distilled at Glenora Distillery in Nova Scotia, then finished in WhistlePig rye barrels and bottled at WhistlePig Farm in Vermont. It is bottled at 46% ABV.
This first release was drawn from 18 individual barrels.
The nose is sweet fruit leading into cinnamon, maple syrup and baking apples. On the palate come golden raisin, graham cracker, black cherry, rich caramel and warm rye spice. The finish is solid oak with maple, praline and a faint hint of smoke.
