The Boss Hog VIII: LapuLapu's Pacific is a single barrel rye whiskey from WhistlePig, bottled at barrel strength of 52.4% in a 75cl bottle. It completes a journey around the world begun with the earlier Boss Hog editions and honours the Filipino warrior LapuLapu.
The aged rye is double finished in high toast, small batch Philippine rum casks from a single island.
The nose offers vanilla with underripe banana, fresh lemon and molasses. On the palate come ground cinnamon, citrus zest, butterscotch and toffee. The finish brings tanned leather, brown sugar, nutmeg, allspice and lasting black pepper spice.
