This is a bottle of White Horse blended Scotch whisky, released in 1958 by White Horse Distillers at 70 proof, which is 40% ABV.
Peter Mackie, the owner of Lagavulin, created the White Horse blend in the 1880s and named it after his family's pub in Edinburgh, where travellers could catch the overnight coach to London. By 1958 White Horse Distillers was a subsidiary of DCL, the forerunner of Diageo. It still held the licence for Lagavulin, Craigellachie and Glen Elgin, which supplied the main malt component of the blend. Some Malt Mill may also be in bottlings from this period, as that distillery operated at Lagavulin until 1962.
