Wire Works Madeira Finish is a lightly peated English single malt from White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire, bottled at 53.6% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky has been finished in Madeira casks, which brings plenty of sweetness and spice: vanilla fudge, marmalade, nutmeg and chocolate.
The nose offers dried stone fruits, sultanas, ginger biscuits and buttery fudge, with redbush tea and a touch of nougat. On the palate come treacle toffee, oily malt, smoked tea and grilled peach, with peppermint, hibiscus, candied nuts and cocoa. The finish is chocolate-dipped candied orange, wintery spices and oak char.
