White Peak Wire Works Necessary Evil Finish 2025 Release (70cl, 51.3%)

Wire Works Necessary Evil Finish is a lightly peated English single malt from White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire, bottled at 51.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was released on 25 July 2025 in an outturn of 2,457 individually numbered bottles. The spirit is fermented with spent brewer's yeast from Thornbridge Brewery and matured for 18 months in ex-bourbon barrels. Twelve of these barrels were then emptied one by one into recharred casks that had held Thornbridge's Necessary Evil stout, where the whisky spent around eight months. The nose offers vanilla fudge, toasted hazelnuts and fresh roasted coffee. On the palate come dark chocolate, dates, salted caramel and a little smoke, followed by a finish of tobacco, dark cherries and roasted malt.
