White Peak – Wire Works Necessary Evil Finish (70cl, 51.3%)

A limited-edition English single malt from White Peak distillery, released in 2023 at 51.3% and finished in ex-stout casks that originally held Pedro Ximenez sherry. The stout came from Thornbridge brewery and adds layers of dark fruit. The nose is creamy and nutty, with hazelnuts, filter coffee, roasted malt, espresso, chocolate-coated raspberries, smoked almonds and toffee apples. On the palate there is plenty of dark and dried fruit, with cocoa nibs, prune, raisin, dark chocolate, coffee and roasted nuts. The finish is sweet, rich and smoky.
