Whitlaw 16 Year Old Darkness (50cl, 55%)

This is a 16-year-old single malt from Whitlaw, part of the Darkness collection from the independent bottler Atom Brands. Whitlaw is a brand rather than a distillery, and the whisky comes from a well-known Orkney distillery. It is bottled in a 50cl bottle at 55% ABV, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour. Darkness whiskies are matured further in handmade sherry octave casks, usually around 50 litres. This one spent that time in Moscatel sherry octaves, where the small size allows more contact between spirit and wood.
