Wild Life Rye Whisky (45.9%)

A Canadian rye whisky from Wild Life Distillery in Canmore, Alberta, bottled at 45.9% ABV. The mash bill is 88% rye and 12% malted barley, distilled in a 500-litre copper alembic pot still. It was matured for at least three and a half years in 53-gallon American white oak barrels, using prairie grain and Rocky Mountain water. The nose brings rye grain, caramel, vanilla and toasted oak with a base of baking spice. On the palate it is full of rye spice, caramelised grain and peppery warmth, and the finish is warming and long, with rye spice, caramel and dry oak.
