Wild Turkey 101 Proof is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 50.5% ABV. The mash bill is high in rye, at roughly 75% corn, 13% rye and 12% malted barley, and the bourbon is aged in No. 4 alligator-char barrels.
The nose is caramel, vanilla and charred oak, with spice, tobacco leaf and a little orange peel. The palate is full-bodied, with toffee, maple syrup and baking spice, and the rye adds pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is long, warm and spicy, fading into vanilla, dry oak and tobacco.
