Wilderness Trail – Settlers Select Rye Whiskey Barrel Proof (75cl, 49.9%)

Wilderness Trail Settlers Select is a single barrel Kentucky straight rye whiskey, bottled at cask strength, 49.9% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. This bottle is three years old. The whiskey goes into the barrel at 100 proof, and the mash bill is 56 percent rye, 33 percent corn and 11 percent malted barley, created for a broader balance of flavour than the typical high ryes. The nose has spearmint, tobacco and clove over a syrupy sweetness. The palate is oily and sweet, with a blend of spices. The big spicy finish fades quickly, though its tail lingers for a while.
