This Willett Family Estate bourbon is an eight year old Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled from a single barrel to mark the 50th anniversary of Kirsch Import. Sebastian Jäger chose cask 551 at the distillery in Bardstown. It is bottled at cask strength, 67.1%, in a 70cl bottle.
The mash bill is Willett's Original Family recipe of 72% corn, 13% rye and 15% malted barley. During maturity the cask lost around 55 percent to evaporation, and the strength rose from 62.5 to 67.1%. Just 122 bottles were filled.
