This is Willett Pot Still Reserve, a small batch Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 47% abv in a large 1.75 litre bottle, shaped like an alembic pot still.
It was first released in 2008 as a single barrel and changed to a small batch bourbon around 2015. The whiskey is sourced from undisclosed Kentucky distilleries, and Willett has not said whether its own distillate will be included.
The nose offers ripe cherry, citrus, vanilla and dry oak, with a little buttered popcorn and honey. Honey and caramel meet light spice and citrus on the palate. The finish carries rye spice and cinnamon.
