Willett Wheated 8 Year Old Bourbon (75cl, 57.5%)

Willett Wheated 8 Year Old is a Kentucky bourbon from Kentucky Bourbon Distillers in Bardstown, bottled at 57.5% ABV without chill filtration. It comes from Willett's own-distilled programme. The mash bill is corn, wheat and malted barley with no rye, so wheat replaces rye as the secondary grain. That gives a softer, sweeter character than the high-rye bourbons of the Willett Family Estate, after 8 years of ageing in American oak. The nose is warm wheat sweetness with vanilla, caramel and light honey. The palate is sweet, smooth and full-bodied, with caramel and vanilla, and the finish is long and warming with gentle oak.
