William Larue Weller 2017 is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort. It is one of five annual releases in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection and the only wheated bourbon among them. The whisky is between 10 and 14 years old.
It is bottled uncut and unfiltered at 128.2 proof, or 64.1% ABV.
The nose is rich caramel, vanilla, dark fruit, toasted oak and honeyed sweetness. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, with toffee, dark chocolate, dried cherry, baking spice and a silky wheat sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with caramel, vanilla and oak.
