An Islay single malt from 2013, finished in oloroso casks and bottled at 58.9%. It is released under the trade name Williamson, after Bessie Williamson, who managed Laphroaig from the 1940s to the early 1970s.
The nose offers dried fruit, sherried raisins and a little dark chocolate, with a touch of sea breeze. On the palate there are roasted nuts, blackberry and molasses syrup, lifted by peat smoke and subtle spice. The finish brings toffee, leather and a soft hint of sea salt.
