Wire Work Small Batch #6 Autumn Release (White Peak Distillery) (70cl, 47.7%)

Wire Work Small Batch #6 is the autumn release in White Peak Distillery's Small Batch series. It is a single malt made from the distillery's lightly peated spirit, bottled at 47.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured in first-fill ex-bourbon and STR casks, with a higher proportion of American oak. The casks were chosen from the warmer upper dunnage at the distillery, where the higher temperatures bring variation in the wood extract. The nose offers green apples, vanilla butter fudge and fruitcake. On the palate come tobacco, bitter orange marmalade and cereal, and the finish carries nutmeg, mace and a wisp of smoke, fading to sweet vanilla.
