Wire Works Bourbon Barrel is an English single malt from White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire. It was matured only in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels from Heaven Hill in Kentucky, and is bottled at 53.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The character is rich and fruity, with vanilla, cream and a gentle wisp of smoke. The nose brings vanilla cheesecake, white chocolate, fruit salad sweets, lemon curd and candied ginger, with peaches and cream. The palate has custard creams, lemon zest, icing sugar, chocolate-covered peanuts, honey and gingerbread.
The finish is long, with apple crumble, Murray mints, lime pickle and white pepper.
