Wire Works Rum Cask Finish White Peak Distillery (70cl, 56.2%)

Wire Works is an English single malt from White Peak distillery in Derbyshire. This edition was first matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, then finished for two years in the distillery's own rum casks. The whisky is lightly peated and bottled at 56.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The nose combines icing sugar, candied pineapple, jellied fruits and summer berries with creamy vanilla, white chocolate and lemon posset. On the palate, tropical fruit salad and ripe banana sit with gentle peat smoke, zesty citrus, shortbread and burnt custard. The finish adds a touch of herbal spice, candied orange peel, gingersnap biscuits and delicate smoke.
