Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 45.2% in a 750ml bottle. The mash bill is 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley.
The bourbon matures twice. It spends time in a charred new oak barrel, then moves to a second new oak barrel that is deeply toasted and lightly charred. Double Oaked was launched in 2012.
The nose is rich with dark fruit, caramel, honey, chocolate, marzipan and toasted oak. On the palate come vanilla, dark caramel, hazelnut, apple and warming spice, and the finish is long and creamy, with honeyed apple and gentle oak.
