Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 45.2% in a 75cl bottle. It spends time in a second new oak barrel that is heavily toasted and lightly charred.
The nose brings maple syrup, butterscotch, caramel, bittersweet chocolate and sweet hickory smoke. On the palate there is dried cherry and cranberry in blackberry jam, with ripe apple, then chai tea and warming clove. The finish is warm and drying, with lingering clove.
