Woodford Reserve – Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (70cl, 43.2%)

Woodford Reserve is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 43.2% in a 70cl bottle. Its mashbill is 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malt, which is a high share of rye. The whiskey is triple distilled and enters the barrel at the lowest proof, then matures for at least six years. The nose is thick and creamy, with honey, spice, leather, a touch of cocoa, a little smoke, toasty oak and vanilla cream with a hint of butterscotch. The palate is full, with espresso beans, winter spice, ground ginger, almond oil, plenty of rye and a little rum. The finish is long, with cereals and toasty oaken spice.
