Woodford Reserve – Rye (70cl, 45.2%)

Woodford Reserve Rye is an American rye whiskey bottled at 45.2% in a 70cl bottle. Its mash bill is 53% rye, and the spice of the grain comes first, balanced by fresh fruit such as pear and cherry, chopped mint and a touch of honey. The nose is caramel sweet, with green fruit, cereal, toasted wood and black pepper. On the palate rye spice meets fruit, green grass, honey, vanilla and butterscotch, with toasted oak and orange, in a soft, oily medium body. The finish is medium in length, with oak, pepper and caramel and a green note in the background.
