Wyatt Earp 13 Year Old Hazmat Edition is an American whiskey from World Whiskey Society, made as a tribute to the Old West lawman Wyatt Earp. It was originally distilled at Charbay Distillery in California and aged for 13 years in heavy toast charred American oak. The mashbill is 73 percent malted barley, 14.9 percent malted rye and 12.1 percent malted wheat, with no corn, which is why it is not called bourbon.
It is bottled at cask strength, 160 proof or 80% ABV. Hazmat is the name for whiskey bottled at 140 proof or higher, and this is the brand's first release in that category.
The nose brings dark raisins, ripe berries, seasoned oak and vanilla custard. The palate is juicy with raisins and dark fruit, oak spice and a creamy texture, and the finish is long, with oak, charred smoke and dark fruit sweetness.
