Wyoming Whiskey Barrel Strength Special Distillery Selection is a single barrel straight bourbon, aged 10 years in new charred oak at the distillery in Kirby, Wyoming. It comes from barrel 5440 and is bottled without dilution at 127.4 proof (63.7%), as a limited edition.
The mash bill is wheated: 68 percent corn, 20 percent wheat and 12 percent malted barley. The grain is grown in the Bighorn Basin, and the whisky is distilled, aged and bottled in the state.
The nose brings Demerara sugar, plum pudding, apricot jam and dark chocolate covered espresso beans. On the palate there is dried fruit, cherry cobbler, rum raisin, orange zest, toasted caramel, leather and baking spice. The finish is long and dry, with butter creme, candied orange peel and dark dried fruit.
