Yamato Small Batch Whisky

A Japanese blend of malted Scotch whisky and a distillate made from select grain grown in Yamanashi Prefecture. The name on the label translates as 'great harmony'. The whisky is a blend of 3 to 8 year old whiskies aged in Mizunara oak barrels. It is not chill filtered, which keeps the natural character of the whisky. The grain comes from the Kofu Basin, a fertile, land-locked valley ringed by high mountains including Mt. Fuji. The distillery says the cooler climate slows the maturation of the grains and adds richness of flavour.
