Yamazaki – 12 Year Old Single Malt Japanese Whisky (75cl, 43%)

Yamazaki 12 Year Old is a single malt from the Yamazaki Distillery near Kyoto, which Shinjiro Torii established in 1923. It is a 12 year old whisky, bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl-style 750ml bottle. The whisky is matured in three kinds of oak: American oak, Spanish sherry oak and Mizunara Japanese oak. Each contributes something different, from vanilla and coconut to dried fruit and richness, and incense and sandalwood. The nose offers peach, pineapple, grapefruit, clove and candied orange. On the palate come raspberry, cranberry, clove, vanilla and Mizunara spice, leading to a gentle, lingering finish of fruit and spice.
