Yamazaki – 12 Year Old

Yamazaki 12 year old is the flagship single malt of Suntory, made at Japan's first and oldest malt distillery. It first reached the market in 1984 and was the first Japanese single malt to be marketed seriously. It has since built a devoted following. The nose has good body, with nut oils, zest, a floral character, a little tropical fruit and a rooty note. The palate is soft and smooth with good sweetness and winter spice, then a citrus note, more tropical fruit and a touch of rum. The finish is medium, with fruit and zest.
