Yamazaki 12 Year Old is a Japanese single malt and the flagship single malt of Suntory. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is aged for 12 years in a mix of American oak, Spanish oak and Japanese Mizunara casks.
The nose offers honeyed peaches, sandalwood, dried apricots and a little smoke. The palate is silky, with spiced oak, roasted nuts, orange peel and Mizunara warmth. The finish is lingering, with soft clove, cedar and a delicate smokiness.
